LET'S GET (RE)STARTED

This is an exciting moment for me with the launch of Chris Cook Communications - again. In July 2021, after launching my personal business less than a year earlier, I paused Chris Cook Communications to focus on banking. Now, I'm proud to say, it's back!

Chris Cook Communications started as a fleeting thought in 2008 - a thought that was quickly sidetracked by an unprecedented football season. WRECK' EM! That same year I began working on a master's degree in mass communication at Texas Tech University (received it in 2012!). The goal was the future...obtain an advanced degree, knock off the rust of 15 years (at the time) of learning on the job, and be prepared for whatever comes along.

That "whatever" presented itself in 2010, when I was asked to serve as director of communications at Texas Tech. It's a role I proudly held until July 2021, when I entered banking.​I've had the great privilege to teach in the College of Media & Communication since 2011. Courses have ranged from Introduction to Public Relations, Principles of Public Relations, Crisis Communication, Global Perspectives on Sports, and Sport and Media. As wonderful as it's been to work closely with students, I've learned so much more from the opportunity to serve in the classroom. The teaching and learning rekindled that fleeting thought from 2008 and manifested into my new role back at Texas Tech in the College of Media & Communication, which I began in September 2023. I am proud to be back and serve as the Assistant Dean of Enrollment Management & Marketing and Assistant Professor of Practice in Public Relations and Strategic Communication.​ The latter role allows opportunities to pursue "professional currency," basically, practice what you preach. Therefore, the relaunch of this business.

With 30+ years under the belt, I am more than prepared to reflect on many years of experiences and help businesses and individuals achieve their communication and marketing goals. Let's get started.
