Hi, I'm Chris Cook
I'm Chris Cook, your friend in the communications industry. My advisory services are supported by three decades of experience and access to innovative resources to amplify your brand's visibility and facilitate sustainable growth through strategic professional expertise.
A Bit About Me
I'm a native of Delhi, La., a hamlet on Interstate 20 smack dab between Monroe, La. and Vicksburg, Miss., and complete with a water tower visible from the highway. I had a typical childhood - riding three wheelers, fishing, crawfishing, riding bikes to the Quik Trip for a Slush Puppy in a Ron Cey cup, and cutting grass in the summer sun. I attended Delhi High School, where I played tennis and excelled in communications - unfortunately during class. Too small to play football, a precursor of my future occurred during the 1985 Delhi Bear football season when I began keeping statistics during the games. The highlight of which was calling the Monroe newspaper and reporting the numbers, then opening the paper the next morning and knowing the information was there because of me.

After high school, I attended Louisiana Tech University, where I majored in journalism, became a sports writer, and discovered the sports information office. My first event as an office staff member was a Dec. 6, 1991 basketball game against No. 6 Oklahoma State. ESPN carried the game and I was hooked. That moment was the epiphany that launched a career spanning more than three decades.

I've led award-winning initiatives, including Heisman Trophy campaigns for Texas Tech football players Kliff Kingsbury, Michael Crabtree and Graham Harrell. I directed Texas Tech Athletics communications for 10 years, including working alongside Tech Hall of Fame Coach Mike Leach and coordinating media around the hiring of legendary basketball coach Bob Knight. Additionally, I coordinated communication efforts for Texas Tech University for 11 years in the Office of the President.

With a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Louisiana Tech (1993) and extensive experience at Western Kentucky University, Saint Louis University, Texas Tech University (24 years), and First Financial Bank in Abilene, I bring a wealth of knowledge and practical skills in communications, marketing, and crisis management to my consultancy. Alongside my professional endeavors, I pursued further education, earning a Master of Arts in Mass Communication (2012) from Texas Tech.
I am currently the Assistant Dean for Enrollment Management & Marketing in the College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech and a professor of practice in the Department of Public Relations, and lead public relations efforts for Primitive, a digital marketing agency in Lubbock. My professor role requires continued professional experience, which allows the opportunity to work with organizations and businesses on their communication and marketing needs.
Additionally, I am deeply committed to the tenets of exceptional customer service and sharing those for the betterment of organizations.
